Example of a thermal propagation study carried out with an USB data acquisition module from TECHNETEA

In the experiment below, carried out to study the thermal propagation along a slab of metal, the 3 Pt100 sensors are connected on the 3 channels of an USB data acquisition module, while the isolated switch of the 4th channel directly controls the power supply of a 30 W low voltage heating resistor.

This animation from a recording shows the thermal evolution in accelerated motion, with the data displayed just as the operator can see them on the computer screen. The yellow trace represents the control signal of the heating resistor.
